Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I'll be sharing a table with my good friend, and swell artist to boot, Richard Garcia :iconirongiant775:  It'll be his first time too :)  
Yaaaay!!! Artist Alley virgins!!

We kinda signed up a wee bit too late for a table so we're kinda in the lobby of the convention under the name: Jon Abe Rich, table# 2008

We'll be selling prints, sketchbooks and if asked nicely, we'll even draw some commission sketches!

So if you're attending, feel free to swing on by and say hello so we can meet our awesome watchers in person and forget your names then remember who you are when you show us your avatar picture!! :D :D

i found out that if you reply to your own comment that the other person won't be notified of it in their messages.

I do have a FB buuut it's just for personal use, not really to spread my work.

I post most of my work on my FB fan page and I like it it helps show my art off to others via friends. www.Facebook.com/SelfridgePhotography is my page.

But for me people can tag themselves in their photos which other people see and it helps my business as a body painting photographer grow. :)

You can create a fan page that you control through your personal account. to which is nice.
